Joseph Ishie is the Africa Director, Client Advisory and Markets Lead at Nina Jojer Associates (NJA), a consulting firm delivering customised solutions for business success across Sub-Saharan Africa. In this role, he drives the firm's client advisory practice and market development strategy across the continent, leading engagements that span communications, public policy, corporate strategy, and investment advisory. His work addresses some of Africa's most consequential challenges — from climate finance and digital transformation to trade facilitation, investment promotion, and capacity building.

Before joining NJA, Joseph served as Project and Research Coordinator at the American Business Council (ABC) Nigeria, the affiliate of the US Chamber of Commerce in Nigeria. In that capacity, he was the key interface between multinational corporations and Nigeria's policy environment, advising companies including Google, Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, Netflix, MasterCard, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, and Intel on market intelligence, public policy, and business strategy. A defining achievement of his tenure was facilitating the US–Nigeria bilateral trade deal that generated over $10 billion in trade in 2019 — a milestone that underscored his ability to translate policy advocacy into tangible commercial outcomes.

Joseph is a published voice on African economic development. He has contributed commentary to the African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET) on artificial intelligence policy in Africa, and has spoken at forums including the 2024 Science of Trade Conference hosted by the US Mission Nigeria, where he addressed trade policy advocacy for African businesses.
