Olayinka Peter brings over 20 years of experience across agriculture, development finance, and applied research, with a career focused on building and scaling programmes that connect smallholder producers to formal value chains, finance, and markets.
He is best known for his role in Nigeria's Wheat Value Chain resuscitation initiative (the "Brown Revolution") under the Central Bank of Nigeria's Anchor Borrowers' Programme, where he served in a senior coordination capacity between 2019 and 2024. During this period, national wheat seed availability expanded from under 1,500 metric tonnes in 2015 to over 20,000 metric tonnes by 2022 — a transformation that repositioned wheat as a viable domestic crop and laid the groundwork for import substitution at scale.
Earlier in his career, Olayinka was the pioneer Data Manager for Nigeria's National Financial Inclusion Strategy, where he designed the data architecture underpinning one of Africa's most closely watched financial inclusion programmes. He also spent six years as a Monitoring and Reporting Consultant to UNICEF Nigeria's Girls' Education Programme, supporting enrolment and retention for out-of-school children across underserved regions.
As Principal Project Manager at Tripod Professional Services Limited, he has led multi-stakeholder programmes spanning agriculture, digital skills, and public-sector delivery — including the NITDA-funded Digital Literacy for the Informal Sector programme delivered in partnership with the National Youth Service Corps.
At Nina Jojer, Olayinka leads the Agriculture Practice, with a focus on identifying, appraising, and shaping prospective agricultural and food-security projects across the region. His work bridges technical rigour — grounded in statistics, economics, and value-chain analytics — with a practitioner's understanding of what makes agricultural programmes deliverable in African operating contexts.
